Low Maintenance
Maintenance is scheduled once a year for spark plug, oil and air filter changes. Every three years overhaul of the natural gas engine will be required. Covered under our cost sharing agreement.
Codes & Standards
Equipment will meet B149.3 gas fired applicance regulations and is inspected for CSA 22.1 Electrical code compliance.
No Up Front Costs
Our business runs on a cost recovery and revenue sharing model. Equipment and installation capitalized and paid monthly as rental and maintenance contract.

Engineering Assessment
We will work with you to review your electricity and heat usage to determine the correct sizing and where you can save by integrating a unit in your facility.

Site Planning
Equipment will be designed to fit your needs. Will work with your municipality, gas provider and electrical line owner to take out the appropriate permits and contracts for required upgrades.
03
Commissioning
Once the equipment is manufactured and permitting is done, we will go to your site to start commissioning. This will include setting up a building, bringing utilities and verifying the function of the CHP unit.

Questions
How does billing work?
We have partnerships with retailers to allow for net billing on electricity and natural gas on a monthly basis. Payments to Cogen Canada will be based on your electrical and gas usage.
Do you sell the cogeneration units?
No. We do not sell the units. All units are provided under a lease/service arrangement and remain the property of Cogeneration Canada Ltd. There is no upfront expense and we are responsible for completing all service and maintenance.
What do these cogeneration look like and how loud are they?
These units are enclosed in a sound insulated enclosure and then housed in a high-end fire rated 10’x10′ accessory building. The generators are about as loud as a clothes dryer and are then further reduced buy the building insulation.
What happens at the end of the lease?
At end-of-term, options typically include renewal, upgrade/replacement, or equipment removal (if not renewed), subject to the agreement.
Who owns the unit once it’s installed?
Cogeneration Canada Ltd. owns the equipment at all times. The customer pays for the right to use the system and receive the contracted services during the lease term.
What do I need at my site to qualify?
Clients who benefit from a cogen typically have a mix of high heating and electrical loads. These clients will be able to save from reduction or elimination of their heating loads plus reduced electrical supply costs.
